Terms of Service

Users must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding agreement. If you use Financial Fern for a business, you represent that you have authority to act for that business.

You are responsible for your account credentials, for activity under your account, and for keeping contact information reasonably current. Notify us of suspected unauthorized access.

Financial Fern provides tools to upload statements, receipts and supported order histories, review likely matches and category suggestions, and confirm decisions in focused sessions. Features may change. Financial Fern does not currently connect directly to bank accounts or collect bank-login credentials. Users manually upload the records they choose to provide.

You agree not to misuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, disrupt the service, upload unlawful content, or use the service to harm others.

You retain ownership of files and records you upload. You grant us a limited license to host, process, transmit, and display that content solely to provide the service (including sending necessary content to storage, email, and AI providers). You represent you have the rights needed to upload the content.

Certain features send limited transaction, receipt or order information to OpenRouter and selected model providers to generate matching or categorization suggestions. AI features may misread documents, propose incorrect matches, or suggest wrong categories. Suggestions are not guarantees. You must review outputs before relying on them.

Financial Fern does not provide accounting, tax, legal, investment or financial advice. Suggestions should be reviewed by the user and, when appropriate, a qualified professional. Use of Financial Fern does not create an accountant-client, attorney-client, fiduciary, or advisory relationship. We are not a CPA firm, tax preparer, bank, lender, or payment processor.

We do not guarantee categorization accuracy, tax treatment, regulatory compliance, audit readiness, or completeness of your books.

The service depends on third parties including Firebase, Vercel, Resend, OpenRouter, and underlying model providers. Their terms and outages may affect availability.

Financial Fern does not currently charge for the service. We may introduce paid features later. If we do, we will update these Terms and describe any prices before they apply.

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for misuse, risk, or operational reasons. To request deletion of your account and associated data, email fern@financialfern.com from the address associated with your account. Portable account export is not currently available; contact us if you need help obtaining information associated with your account.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features. We aim for reliability but do not promise uninterrupted service.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INSTANTLY UNIQUE LLC AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.

We may update these Terms. We will post the updated Terms on this page. Continued use after the updated Terms are posted may constitute acceptance where permitted by law.
